Why India? 

Since its inception in 2012 within the Football Foundation, the UK’s largest sports charity, Upshot has grown from a tool designed to meet internal needs into a robust system adopted by over 1,400 organisations and 5,000 users worldwide. Now, as an independent social enterprise, Upshot is dedicated to supporting a global community of impact-led organisations. 

India, with its rich diversity and a rapidly growing non-profit sector, presents a unique opportunity to drive meaningful social change. The country is home to thousands of non-profits and social enterprises, all striving to address critical issues across various domains including education, health, sport and communities. By expanding into India, Upshot aims to equip these organisations with the tools and expertise needed to measure their impact effectively, streamline their operations and ultimately amplify their social impact.

Leading this exciting initiative is our new Senior Consultant, Rudro Sen. With a passion for social impact and a deep understanding of the Indian non-profit sector, Rudro brings valuable experience and insights to the table. He has previously worked at Pratham Education Foundation, one of India’s largest educational non-profits, as well as with Aparna Bhasin Consulting, Slum Soccer and Just For Kicks, an organisation dedicated to promoting life and leadership skills through football. In the UK, Rudro has also worked on impactful projects with the National Citizen Service programme and at Alliance of Sport, further broadening his expertise in supporting diverse non-profit initiatives across different cultural contexts.

Tailoring solutions to India’s unique challenges
